The City of Globe is accepting applications for a Full Time Master Fleet Mechanic position to serve as a member of the General Services Division Team in our Public Works Fleet Department.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is to provide safe, functioning equipment and fleet vehicles to the City of Globe. Performs skilled work on inspections, repairs, maintains vehicle and mechanical equipment, fleet vehicles and keeps records, in addition to maintaining a clean safe work environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- ASE Certification or vendor specific certification
- Four years of automotive experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Technical school training in automotive repair preferred and/or trade certifications are desirable
- Valid Arizona driver's license
- Knowledge of automotive mechanics, gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, fire pumps and valves, generators, and welding equipment
- Ability to implement effective preventative maintenance programs, policies and procedures
- Ability to perform routine as well as complicated repairs to the City's fleet of vehicles, mechanical, and power equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, other departments and the public
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
- Available for occasional on call or after-hours emergencies
STARTING SALARY: $52,539.00 to $57,924.00 annually (DOE) (Grade 16, Non-Exempt)
