Deputy County Attorney - County Attorney - $79,769-$99,711

Globe, AZ - Full Time

  • Obtain experience not available to most entry level attorneys and get on the fast track to becoming a courtroom litigation attorney in areas including misdemeanor, juvenile and felony prosecution!
  • Deputy County Attorney Positions available in Globe with the Gila County Attorney’s Office.  Gila County is a rural area, only 60-90 miles from the Phoenix Metro area, with forests, mountains and beautiful Roosevelt Lake.
  • Entry level positions available with a pay range from $79,769 to $99,711;
  • Senior Attorney (minimum of two 2 years’ experience) with a pay range from $87,945 to $109,932;
  • Principle Attorney (minimum of 5 years’ experience, to include criminal trial experience) with a pay range of $96,960 to $121,200.

Purpose of the Job

  • The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety of the citizens of Gila County and the security of their property and to seek punishment for criminal offenders.

  • This position drafts court documents, represents victims in court and argues their cases, and negotiates with the opposing counsel. The attorney also communicates with relevant parties.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position occasionally assigns activities to other employees. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drafts court documents, including plea offers and motions.
  • Communicates with victims, police officers, public, victims’ advocates and supervisors.
  • Appears in court for oral argument or trials; represents victims. 
  • Negotiates with opposing counsel.

Minimum Education Required 

  • Juris Doctorate Degree.

Minimum Years of Directly Related Experience Required

  • No previous experience.

Professional Credentials Required

  • Arizona Supreme Court Bar Licensure, Arizona Bar Association Membership.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
