The City of Globe is accepting applications for a Medium Equipment Operator. This Grade 10, NON-EXEMPT position (eligible for overtime) in the City of Globe's Public Works Department will perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance work, operate a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, and maintenance of City water and sewer systems, streets, and other City systems. The selected applicant may be assigned to any division within the department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Arizona state driver's license with C.D.L. Certification
• Must pass background, drug screen and physical examination
• Knowledge of motorized vehicles and equipment, including loader, backhoe, grader blade, dump truck, pickup truck, utility truck, tamper, plate compactor, saws, pumps, compressors, sanders, generators, and hand tools
• Some knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
**Interview will include a practical hands-on equipment proficiency test.
STARTING SALARY: $39,205 – 43,224 annually, Grade 10, Steps 1 – 3 DOE
