ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include, but not limited to the following)
As primary nursing care provider, supervises patient care activities of assigned team members, delegates activities appropriate to knowledge, skill and competency; provides timely feedback and review of care delivery to ensure maintenance of patient safety, infection control procedures and therapeutic environment
Determines initial level of compliance with treatment plan in accordance with hospital policy and unit guidelinesPerforms ongoing patient/family assessment and identifies variances from diagnosisWorks collaboratively with patient care team and family members to establish and implement plan of care to ensure coordination of activities and ongoing communication of patient health statusParticipates in patient care rounds and patient care conferences as appropriateContinually assesses and evaluates patient’s health status and response to care, teaching and discharge planShares observations and assessment outcomes with health care team and family to ensure communication and understanding of patient health status, progress and ongoing needsPerforms other duties as assigned
