Gila County Industrial Development Authority (IDA)
Position Overview
The Director has the primary responsibility of coordinating the development, oversight, and management of economic development programs to create jobs, retain existing jobs, expand business operations, and promote new business opportunities within Gila County, Arizona. This will be achieved by developing a strong and stable economic climate for existing and potential new businesses within Gila County by assisting businesses in establishing development strategies and to provide operational and strategic services along with capital funding alternatives.
Major Functions
- Establish and promote the role of the IDA within Gila County
- Raise funding via government grants and charitable donations
- Assist and collaborate with local governments, organizations, and business leaders in the implementation of strategic plans to prioritize economic development activities
- Assist with the promotion of business and economic development interests within Gila County
- Develop relationships with local, state, and federal potential donors for charitable donations and grant funding alternatives.
- Oversee and maintain the non-pro?t status of IDA
- Ensure all state and federal reporting requirements for the IDA are completed as required
- Maintain the IDA accounting records required by state and IRS
- Coordinate and report to local IDA Board of Directors
- Develop short- and long-term business plan
- Develop bonding process and Coordinate IDA bonding initiatives
Required Skills and Attributes
- Completed 4-year Bachelor’s degree program
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, writing and public speaking
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal grant writing and ?scal reporting
- Ability to develop and maintain non-pro?t as well as private donor relationships
- Organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet short- and long-term deadlines/goals
- Excellent skills in Microsoft O?ce Suite
- Ability to plan, oversee, and execute annual fundraising initiatives
- Relationships with major local businesses, organizations, and governments
- Functional o?ce organization and basic accounting skills
Salary
Commensurate with experience and work as an Independent Contractor

Person must reside in Gila County after hiring.
