Globe, AZ - Full Time

  • Obtain experience not available to most entry level attorneys and get on the fast track to becoming a courtroom litigation attorney in areas including misdemeanor, juvenile and felony prosecution!

     

    Deputy County Attorney Positions available in Globe with the Gila County Attorney’s Office.  Gila County is a rural area, only 60-90 miles from the Phoenix Metro area, with forests, mountains and beautiful Roosevelt Lake.

    Entry level positions available with a pay range from $79,769 to $99,711;

    Senior Attorney (minimum of two 2 years’ experience) with a pay range from $87,945 to $109,932;

    Principle Attorney (minimum of 5 years’ experience, to include criminal trial experience) with a pay range of $96,960 to $121,200.

    The purpose of this position is to ensure the safety of the citizens of Gila County and the security of their property and to seek punishment for criminal offenders.

    This position drafts court documents, represents victims in court and argues their cases, and negotiates with the opposing counsel. The attorney also communicates with relevant parties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drafts court documents, including plea offers and motions.
  • Appears in court for oral argument or trials; represents victims.
  • Communicates with victims, police officers, public, victims' advocates and supervisors.
  • Negotiates with opposing counsel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required 

  • Juris Doctorate Degree

Minimum Years of Directly Related Experience Required

  • No previous experience.

Professional Credentials Required

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

  • Arizona Supreme Court Bar Licensure, Arizona Bar Association Membership.
