Wastewater Maintenance Worker

The City of Globe is accepting applications for a WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE WORKER to assist in the operations at the Pinal Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility. This NON-EXEMPT (eligible for overtime) Grade 6 position performs a variety of skilled, technical, construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of municipal wastewater collection and treatment systems.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent
• ADEQ certification as a Grade I (minimum) Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or ability to obtain within 12 months is required. Additional ADEQ Certifications are a plus.
• Ability to understand and apply federal (EPA, NPDES) and State (ADEQ, APP, AZDPES) regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements applicable to all components of a wastewater system operated in Arizona; along with ability to prepare and submit acceptable quality-control related tests, logs, other related documents and formal reports to ensure full compliance on the City's behalf.
• Ability to effectively provide the requested information, orally and in written form, to the federal and state agencies, City officials, and all other parties interested in or involved with the operations of the City's Water or Wastewater System, through a harmonious working relationship with the above parties.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.
• Valid AZ driver’s license
• Knowledge of basic computer skills
• Must be able to pass drug screen, physical exam and background check.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of maintenance of wastewater collection systems, treatment plants, and lift stations to control wastewater flow and processing of wastewater, sludge, and effluent in order to meet local, state, or federal regulations.
• A CDL Class B with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• Proficient knowledge in medium and heavy equipment operation and safety procedures
